savannah windows: KELLIE WALKER statement

Kellie Walker depicts settlers of new and unexpected frontiers through her exploration of the individual and his or her accomplishments.  She finds the inventor-explorer in all of us, but for Savannah Windows project Juliet Gordon Lowe and Kevin McPhereson serve as her muses.

She remarks, “Both serve as role models, enrich locals and visitors,  and each reminds us that opportunity is close at hand.”

With trailblazing in mind, she states, “This is a great opportunity to work with talented local artists and, at the same time, allow the public to interact with art without the construct of a traditional gallery or museum.”

About:

Savannah Windows is an ongoing project with the goal of integrating local art with local business. Our current project revolves around Vogue magazine's Fashion Night Out on September 8, 2011. Our hometown of Savannah, GA was selected as a host for this global event. With the help of the Creative Coast, Savannah Windows has partnered with businesses and residents along York street and Broughton street to create window installations celebrating the rich cast of characters from Savannah's past and present.
