savannah windows: ALEX SOTO statement

Personal discovery and relationships guide the work of Alex Soto.  His careful exploration of what we “know” is re-ordered and re-discovered through his reflections on Savannah, its artists and for this project, the Pulitzer prize winning poet Conrad Aiken and SCAD's president Paula Wallace.

savannah windows: HEBERMEHL statement

Co-conspirator and curator of the Savannah Windows project, Matt Hebermehl has chosen Robyn Reeder and Vernon Chad Poole as subjects.

One a soldier and the other a champion of the arts, these warriors face their respective battles in a manner that inspires pride, affection, awe and respect.

Hebermehl honors their integrity and fortitude.

Hebermehl has also selected DaVena Jordan and Bobby Zarem as subjects. Both are homegrown tireless networkers and wranglers of talent. DaVena mines local gems to showcase to the Savannah community and beyond, while Zarem brings in stars from distant galaxies not to show them off to us, but to show us off to them.

About:

Savannah Windows is an ongoing project with the goal of integrating local art with local business. Our current project revolves around Vogue magazine's Fashion Night Out on September 8, 2011. Our hometown of Savannah, GA was selected as a host for this global event. With the help of the Creative Coast, Savannah Windows has partnered with businesses and residents along York street and Broughton street to create window installations celebrating the rich cast of characters from Savannah's past and present.
