savannah windows: TROY WANDZEL statement

Portrait painter and collaborative street artist, Troy Wandzel depicts Savannahian citizen advocate Tom Kohler and multi-media and 3D artist Mike Williams as his subjects for the upcoming Savannah Windows project.

Wandzel remarks of his election, “Both men represent the “true Savannah”.  They have experienced what Savannah was and is, and both constantly strive to bring a “balance” and understanding to the people of Savannah.”

Of the project itself Wandzel suggests, “Savannah needs more community supported programs to promote and expose the working artists in the city. This display supports this idea on a local and national level.”

About:

Savannah Windows is an ongoing project with the goal of integrating local art with local business. Our current project revolves around Vogue magazine's Fashion Night Out on September 8, 2011. Our hometown of Savannah, GA was selected as a host for this global event. With the help of the Creative Coast, Savannah Windows has partnered with businesses and residents along York street and Broughton street to create window installations celebrating the rich cast of characters from Savannah's past and present.
